2014 Terras d'Alter

Grapes Alvarino
Colour White
Origin Portugal, Alentejo
ABV 12.5%

This is 100% Alvarino, and like its Spanish cousins it has a lovely lightness of touch on the palate. With its distinctive smoky nose, aromatic peachy fruit, and a touch of greengage acidity it is marginally richer than the previous vintage, but that only makes it all the more drinkable. Perfect with any kind of fish or seafood, and really great value.

*Case Price: Mix any 12 bottles of wine or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits or Fortified to get the 'case price discount' for each bottle. Free mainland delivery for all orders over £100.

A newly planted vineyard, because the Alvarinho they were taking form a neighbour wasn't good enough. A little floral lift to this, a small percentage of old oak I not perceptible as aroma, but it has loads of citrus and juicy orangey acidity, a little hint of saltiness, and it has lovely style.
87/100 (Nov 2015)

Terras d'Alter is in the Alto Alentejo region in the south of Portugal, where the history of wine growing dates back to Roman times. This extensive history, and a focus which remains largely on native Portuguese varietals, is combined with the New World expertise of dynamic & enterprising winemaker Peter Bright, an Australian making wine in Portugal since 1982.

This wine isn't currently part of a mixed case, but you can always browse our full selection of mixed cases here.
