Livernano's 'Livernano' is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. An immensely elegant wine and drinking really well now. L&S (Mar 2005)

Livernano did not obtain its fourth Tre Bicchieri award in a row. The arithmetical average of the scores at our tastings left Marco Montanari's winery less that one percentage point short of another top award. Still there are no doubts about the high quality and excellent style of this ever elegant and eminently drinkable wine. A nose full of ripe blackberries that mingles with some spicy tones. In the mouth, it shows elegance, progressing with increasing intensity to a finish of great depth and clarity. Gambero Rosso (Mar 2005)
Livernano
A small estate high in the hills of Radda, which was owned by a very enthusiastic and affable Swiss, Marco Montanari, at the time we bought these wines. Livernano is another estate in the more than capable hands of Stefano Chioccioli. Marco Montanari was determined that these wines should reflect the best fruit of the 'terroir' without relying simply upon new oak flavours or heavy extract. Sadly the estate has since changed ownership.
