2006 CHIANTI CLASSICO Riserva Poggio Bonelli
| Grapes: Sangiovese | Origin: Italy, Tuscany |
Lea & Sandeman review
Powerful and rich with ripe Sangiovese and subtle oak, this is now coming into its own and should develop well over the next five years.Other reviews and comments
Deep ruby garnet. Integral cherry, plum, wood, liquorice and mocha notes on the palate. A good length. Gold Medal.
International Wine Challenge
A big and powerful red, with ripe berry, coffee, toasty oak and grilled meat on the nose and palate. Juicy and chewy. Needs time to come together. Best after 2010.

The Wine Spectator
Made from pure Sangiovese, spanning traditional and modern, this is an intensely aromatic Tuscan red with fine depth of fruit behind a polished veneer of spicy oak. The fruit style is concentrated, rich and dark cherryish with a typically lively bite of fresh Tuscan acidity.

Very concentrated, elegant and classy, beautifully smooth, lush and ripe with harmonious toffee and violets element on the finish.
