Lea & Sandeman review
Sweet and flowing, really ripe, blackberry expression, with liquorice again. Lovely consistency on the palate.Other reviews and comments
(the majority of this comes from Champs-Chenys, which is situated next to Charmes and it tends to be more elegant than most Gevrey villages wines). A refined and elegant Gevrey with red pinot fruit, warm earth and a hint of the sauvage introduces round, fresh, pure, vibrant and punchy medium-bodied flavors that are also very firm, persistent and mouth coating. Solid quality here in a "cellaring mandatory" style. 2014+

This comes a slight hillock in Champs-Chenys, next to grand cru Mazoyères, Yves shakes his head over the division of land in Gevrey and points out the proximity of this village wine to a grand cru. He is simply not convinced that Mazoyères is good enough for grand cru. "Mazoyères is not grand cru soil; it is poor grand cru". This is a rather elegant village Gevrey. Dark fruit on the nose and a firmish structure. Taut tannins, dark and peppery, softish acidity and some good minerality on the finish. Good to very good. From 2010
