Lea & Sandeman review
A fabulous 'second' wine which is almost worthy of 'Grand Vin' status, but which will need some cellaring before drinking. Exceptional value.Other reviews and comments
This is a turn up for the books: a stellar showing of Anthony Barton’s deuxième vin. It has a reserved, timid bouquet that demands some coaxing, although I like the definition and the typicité here and it unfurls like a burlesque dancer in the glass. The palate is full-bodied with firm grippy tannins, very good fruit concentration, great depth, suave and sophisticated, almost ravishing towards the finish but great structure and length. Excellent.
