Lea & Sandeman review
Pale as usual, lovely freshness, vivacity and length. Juicy blackberry fruit. 'Silex' says Claude, 'gunflint in the mouth' and I can see what she means.Other reviews and comments
This wine is made from 70% whole bunches, which are foot-pressed. The top soil is thin (no more than 15cm deep), and the vines are therefore inclined to send down roots into the stony, fragile profile below. More expressive and deeply rooted aromatics here, but still in that restrained style. The tannin is very clearly textured, with an attractively grainy texture. Mineral, with delicately floral fruit on the mid palate and length. Discreetly long. Very good. From 2012.

Here the nose is notably earthier and more deeply pitched with dark berry fruit and forest floor aromas complementing nicely rich, round and stony medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a linear, indeed slightly lean finish that compensates by good complexity and persistent. Note that my score assumes that this will put on weight in bottle. 2012+

Drink 2011-14. Very pretty, fully ripe fruit. Lightweight but well balanced. Very light in fact but pure. Fragrant and quite delicate - though the tannins are just a little austere.
