2009 LE DIX Los Vascos

Lea & Sandeman review
In commemoration of 10 years of DBR (Lafite)’s work in Chile, the exceptional quality of some of the cuvées led to the selection of an exceptional wine. Le Dix de Los Vascos originates from 70-year-old vines located in the parcel known as “El Fraile”, and is aged in new French oak barrels. It is only produced in very limited quantities, depending on the concentration and the finesse of the vintage (there was no “Le Dix” in 1998 or in 2005).Other reviews and comments
In Peralillo (Viña Los Vascos), 2009 saw optimal weather conditions for the vine's growth cycle, both in terms of the variation in temperatures and the moisture in the soil. The rains were concentrated in the autumn and winter and the heat that began at the start of the spring was favourable for the opening of the buds and the optimal development of the vines. Temperature variations produced beautiful colour, intense fruit aromas and high quality tannins. The dry climate and excellent condition of the grapes enabled us to wait patiently for good concentration and balance. The grapes ripened in perfect conditions right up to the harvests.
