2009 ROSSO DI MONTALCINO Ginestreto Fuligni
2009 ROSSO DI MONTALCINO Ginestreto Fuligni
| Grapes: Sangiovese Grosso | Origin: Italy, Tuscany |
Lea & Sandeman review
Richly textured with some sweet leathery notes, bright acidity and a savoury long finish. Wonderfully pure and vibrant Sangiovese.Other reviews and comments
Looks quite evolved with its pale ruby. Serious stuff – fully ripe Sangiovese but with restraint and no winemaking tricks. Coffee powder? In a pure way. Very healthy wine. Vibrates on the palate. GV. 2011-2015

A Rosso di Montalcino like, for example, Roberto Fuligni's Ginestreto 2009 is a wonderfully pure expression of sangiovese, fragrant, light and balanced. It doesn't need anything else.
It's also a fine example of Rosso's "baby Brunello" status, a logical step towards Fuligni's supremely elegant and very serious 2006 Brunello di Montalcino.
