2010 VIOGNIER Terras d'Alter
2010 VIOGNIER Terras d'Alter
| Grapes: Viognier | Origin: Portugal, Alentejo |
Lea & Sandeman review
Grown in hotter regions Viognier can so easily become too alcoholic and flabbily aromatic, rendering it undrinkable. Grown on austere granite soils and fermented under cool and controlled conditions, this Viognier is a beauty, with notes of apricot, ripe fruits and a bright taut acidity.Other reviews and comments
Not 100% sure I would see the Viognier immediately if this were served blind, but it certainly doesn’t lack personality or impact. Weight and good fresh green-leaf acidity. Good balance. An intriguing find. Wonder how old the vines are?

Peter Bright's TERRA d'ALTER wines
We've somewhat taken to Peter Bright's outstanding range of wines from Portugal's Alentejo. They represent such amazing value and offer a charming array of textures and flavours. The whites are all bright and crisp but bursting with fruit, the reds rich and dense but still refreshing. It's hard to pick a favourite...so don't, here's one of each.
