Tongue in Groove is no longer a ‘new kid on the block’; it is a formidable producer of outstanding wines, year after year. This latest offering combines vibrancy with sensuality, and delivers loads of pleasing flavours. Beautifully perfumed with stone fruit, floral, mandarin and a hint of honey on the nose. The palate is concentrated and finely textured with subliminal sweetness backed by bright acidity. Delightfully refreshing and immensely enjoyable already, this is a brilliantly structured riesling with a promising future. At its best: now to 2023 Drinking range: 2016 - 2023 Rating: 95 Sam Kim, www.wineorbit.co.nz (Feb 2017)

Delicious fruity wine threaded with honeyed complexity. Olly Smith, The Mail on Sunday (Sept 2016)

Delightful, mouthwatering Riesling from free-draining gravel terraces. Rich, opulent pineapple, peach and apricot with honey and waxy notes from a hint of botrytis. Light sweetness is balanced by lively acidity and freshness on the persistent finish, which has subtle phenolic grip. Rating: 91 Sarah Marsh MW, Club Oenologique Magazine (Mar 2016)

Tongue in Groove

Six friends, five of them Roseworthy graduates (although the winemaker, Lynette Hudson, is a graduate of Lincoln) were prompted to form this 'perfect fit' team by the Canterbury earthquake and the realisation that they had to get on with doing something themselves as well as working for others. All well-connected in the NZ wine scene, they are able to source outstanding fruit and clearly have the expertise to turn this into outstanding wines. Check out their website at http://tongueingroove.co.nz/about/. Their first releases have already caused quite a stir - but are very limited in quantity.
