Vins de Bourgogne Under the Radar
Burgundy (or Bourgogne en Français) the home of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is so much more than the expensive wines it’s famous for. Move away from the villages with ‘Gevrey’ or ‘Montrachet’ in the name and you’re in for some delightful surprises.
It’s no secret that we’re quite fond of vins de Bourgogne at Lea & Sandeman, and pride ourselves on long lasting relationships with many of our winemakers. These growers, regardless of what village may appear on the label, capture the essence of individual terroir through the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape.
If you don't know where to start, we have carefully chosen six pairs of ‘under the radar’ wines – some names you may have heard of, others possibly not. From North to South, from regional appellations to Village Premier Cru - take a tour off the beaten track en Bourgogne.
