Côte de Nuits

Fragrant with myrtle, bilberry, damson and forest floor. Great drive with grip and some flesh, balanced, never heavy, but persistent with plenty of fruit and a good acid push to the finish.

Quite a soft initial touch gives an impression of lowish acidity, then there's freshness, elegance and purity to the juicy fruit - nicely done.

On the plateau de Chaux, above Nuits. Deep colour. I like the balance here, fresh and bouncy, with a cassis edge, this is as good a usual.

From the north side of the village. The amplitude of a deep clay soil, which retained water well in this dry vintage. Solidly-built, it has the freshness of the vintage giving good drive.

Broad flavours. Quite dry. There's good depth of dark berry fruit here but for now it is firm and needs a little time to soften up.
