Santenay

This replaces the 'Comme Dessus' cuvee in the line-up this year at that vineyard was frosted 100%. A supple and rounded wine with old vines ripeness and it will be an easy wine to drink young.

Very purple, with a smokier nose. Good pert fruit on the palate, with a lovely smoky, savoury backbone. Firm but gentle tannins. Lovely.

More ripeness on the nose here than the Comme Dessus - an inviting sweeter note. Clearly we're now in 1er Cru territory. On the palate the fruit is more up-front. A good, juicy ripeness. Not really bolder or hairier - ju...(read more)
