Nuits-St-Georges

On the plateau de Chaux, above Nuits. Deep colour. I like the balance here, fresh and bouncy, with a cassis edge, this is as good a usual.

The ripeness of the 2018 vintage, lush and rich with soft tannins. Lovely drinking almost from now.

From the Vosne side of the village, on quite sandy soils, this is already spicy and complex, with a supple juicy rich fruit.

After the Vosne, the village Nuits seems silkier, with more lift, then a solid middle with dense concentration, and a really gourmand finale with fruit-filled ripe tannins and a lift of freshness.

Sleek and fine - such a lovely texture - must have picked at exactly the right moment. It's gorgeous. They even used a little whole bunch in this.
