Alsace
A complicated history has left an area with a unique character that, whilst French, is not like other parts of France. This is, certainly, true of its wine. The tall fluted bottle, the emphasis on grape variety and the presence of Gewürztraminer and Riesling in the vineyard all set Alsace aside from the rest of the country.
