2020 BOURGOGNE CÔTE D'OR BLANC Domaine Henri Germain
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13.5% White
Chardonnay.
This spends 12 months in barrel. Not giving much away on the nose but lovely density & structure to the fruit on the palate. Notes of red apple, citrus and white orchard fruits. Good phenolics. Lovely balance. Very g...(read more)

2018 CÔTE DE BEAUNE Domaine Joseph Drouhin
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13% White

Tasting note by Véronique Boss-Drouhin "A truly delicious and harmonious wine. Pale gold colour, very bright. The aromas bring to mind honey, almond and lemongrass (citronella). As the wine matures, intense f...(read more)

2021 SAINT AUBIN Compendium Domaine Joseph Colin
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13% White
Chardonnay.
Quite full and harmonious, this is tautly mineral and dry at the moment to the edge of austerity. Give it a year to soften.

2021 SAINT AUBIN 1er Cru Sentier du Clou Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13.5% White
Chardonnay.
Similar volume to the Puligny, but not the fruit sweetness, this is excellent too - a little firmer and possibly a sunnier expression, which is freshened by the mildly phenolic finish.

2020 SAINT AUBIN 1er Cru Chatenière Domaine Joseph Colin
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13% White

A steep hillside which has to be worked by hand. Although well-exposed in terms of orientation, it is shaded by the facing hills and gets 1 to 1.5 less hours of sunshine a day than some of the other sites, resulting in a...(read more)

2021 CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET Les Chênes Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13.5% White
Chardonnay.
A more composed and refined village wine, with less obvious fruit, nicely rich in the mid-palate, still with the vintage's citrussy notes in the background. Nicely done.

2021 CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET Domaine Joseph Colin
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13% White
Chardonnay.
From Journoblots, Meix Goudard and others. First parcels he picked in 2021, and it gave 25 hl/ha, not bad in the context of the year, although half a normal yield. Both rich and tensile, with a fine mineral blade though...(read more)

2021 PULIGNY MONTRACHET Vieilles Vignes Domaine de la Choupette
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13% White
Chardonnay.
When tasted in October 2021 the entry was a little hesitant at first, but then it picked itself up quickly at there's a nice core of very Puligny fruit and mineral succulence and a quality of easy-to-like gourmandise.

Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13% White

18hl/ha. Normally Joseph's parcel in Chatenière is late ripening as it's low down and loses the sun early in the day, but with the low yield it ripened early and has the character of a sunny site, combined with th...(read more)

2020 SAINT AUBIN 1er Cru Domaine Henri Boillot
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 14% White
Chardonnay.
From vines in Les Combes & small parts of En Remilly. A new wine for us from the Domaine. Slightly brighter feel to the fruit than the Meursaults but still lots of ripeness & structure. A bit of smokiness. Very good.

2021 PULIGNY MONTRACHET 1er Cru Sous le Puits Domaine de la Choupette
Côte d'Or Burgundy France 13% White
Chardonnay.
Both rounder and more mineral than the village wine, this is quite taut. Very pure and straight, with a little phenolic astringency picking up the finish. Good volume but mostly suberbly linear and long. Perrine Gutrin's...(read more)
