Domaine du Chêne Vert

France, Rhône

The foundation of the Domaine dates back to the 17th century by the Rochas family. The cultivation was that of peach trees mainly combined with that of vines. Today Domaine du Chêne Vert is jointly managed by Mickael Rochas (1977 vintage) and Jordan Colin (1992 vintage). It was Michel Rochas (vintage 1942), father of Mickael and grandfather of Jordan, who laid the current foundations of the estate from the end of the 1960s around two activities, one third orchards (4.5 ha) and two thirds vines (16.5 ha with a beautiful heritage of old vines). Domaine du Chêne Vert has been certified AB Organic since 2021.

A longtime member of the cooperation family, the estate decided to strike out on its own from 2002 by selling its grapes to a famous producer of the appellation, a close neighbour of the estate. The desire to vinify some of the estate's grapes finally comes to fruition in 2022 with the estate's first vintage vinified in the famous neighbour's cellar. The 2023 vintage is the first vintage vinified in the new Domaine du Chêne Vert cellar inaugurated for the harvest and located Chemin du Chêne Vert in La Roche-de-Glun.

From 2024, the estate took the advice of Pascal Lombard (Etic Oeno Conseil at 26 Mercurol-Veaunes) and former technical director of Vins de Vienne.
