Penedo Borges
Bodega Penedo Borges is a small winery located at the highest point of Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo in Mendoza at 1,050 meters above sea level, where it has a single 48-hectare vineyard managed under the practices of sustainable viticulture. Certified as B Corp in 2017. The vineyard was founded more than twenty years ago by Euclides Penedo Borges, engineer, oenophile and author, with a group of like-minded Argentine and Brazilian friends.
The grapes, harvested and selected by hand. In the underground cellar, fermentation room and microvinification room, with controlled humidity and temperature, the wines are stored in French and American oak barrels. And those already bottled remain there until the end of their maturation process.
The head winemaker is Juan Manuel González, who began his career in 1998 with wineries such as Fecovita, Trivento and Benegas. He was a member of the Eno-Rolland team until 2015, expanding his experience with two vintages at Château Le Gay in Pomerol. He joined Penedo Borges in 2018.
