Wignac

In the Ardennes region, in northern France, Edourd de Merode and his sister Eliane - have revived the family's history of growing fruit. Historically the family - then known as the Wignacourts - had acres of fruit trees - and this was the regions main crop. However, the two world wars ravaged the land here destroying the historic orchards. This latest generation have been busy planting trees and reviving the old family orchards. Working organically, following tradition they are crafting gorgeously fresh and dangerously drinkable ciders. Artisanal, small scale methods and simply delightful drinking.
