As Lacoste Borie is made by Francois-Xavier Borie at Grand Puy Lacoste, so this is made by his brother Bruno at Ducru Beaucaillou. Very bright ruby edge, silky, very, very fine and harmonious, brightly defined fruit, great purity and good acidity carrying the length. Very slightly edgy but this makes it interesting. Rating: 90 L&S (Jun 2010)

Violets leap out of the glass, a lovely fragrant nose. There are layers of fruit on the palate cassis tending to dominate but black cherry is very much in evidence, the freshness towards the back being bilberry inspired. The richness so well balanced by some freshness. 2016-28 Rating: 87-91 Derek Smedley MW, 2013)
