Vineyard La Richemone

La Richemone is at the northern end of the appellation, above Les Murgers and below Les Damodes - he has a big square plot in the middle of the hillside. Shown rather unfairly after the Combe d'Orveau Ultra, it is still dense and pure, with a slightly rugged fruit, spice follows through, and good all-round depth. L&S (Nov 2010)

It is very light with not a lot showing on the nose but more fruit is there on the palate enriching. Red fruits appear to dominate the mid palate quite light and fresh but there are black fruits in evidence filling out the back palate. 2013-20 Rating: 90 Derek Smedley MW, www.dereksmedleymw.co.uk (Dec 2013)

The 2009 Nuits St. Georges La Richemone shows marvelous freshness and vibrancy for the vintage. The wine bristles on the palate with considerable energy. Perrot-Minot's Richemone is mostly a wine of vertical focus, something that is a bit unusual in 2009. 2014-2024 Rating: 92 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Nov 2013)

A spicy and pungently earthy nose of dark berry fruit and sauvage aromas introduces rich, serious and very powerful medium weight plus flavors that possess impressive mid-palate concentration that helps to cushion the very firm tannins, all wrapped around a powerful and wonderfully persistent finish. 2021+ Rating: 91-94 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2011)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
