After the Combe d'Orveau, this is more structured, slightly less 'effortless', but none the worse for it, just different, a more solid, denser style, very straight and very long. Powerful black fruit and structure. L&S (Dec 2011)

The 2010 Nuits St. Georges La Richemone is plump and irresistibly juicy. Despite its considerable richness, the wine remains weightless and totally gracious. High-toned floral notes, wild herbs and spices add brightness on the finish. 2015-2025 Drinking range: 2018 - 2037 Rating: 90-92 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Nov 2013)

Moderate reduction impairs an evaluation of the nose but there is plenty of verve to the silky and attractively fine flavors where once again the impression of finesse is abetted considerably by the ultra-fine tannins though there is a touch of Nuits muscle that shows up on the powerful and notably firm finish. This is also very impressive. Drink 2020+ Drinking range: 2020 - Rating: 90-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Mar 2012)

Bright, deep red. Warm, inviting aromas of redcurrant, leather and game. Large-scaled, round and silky, with a distinctly creamy texture and a hint of rusticity to the redcurrant, meat and leather flavors. Fat, full and open-knit (especially following the Chambolle-Musigny Combe d'Orveau Cuvee Ultra), but supported by substantial ripe tannins. Rating: 89 - 92 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Jan 2012)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
