This family-run estate in the ancient Valley of Stones ('Valdepeñas' in Spanish) is also one of the country's most modern wineries! Here, the hot, dry climate is perfect for their gnarled old vines Tempranillo to grow. Round and full, with soft bramble fruit and sweet spice, this wine has Rioja panache without the price tag. Bodegas Navarro Lopez is an old family business, dating back to 1904, producing DO Valdepenas wines from their 190 hectares of vines. Having recently invested in a brand new winery they have adopted the philosophy of making single variety wines, aged in new oak barrels, yet still reflecting the traditional characteristics of the Valdepeñas wines.
