A plump, round wine. Berry fruit and oak nose, bright and ripe consistency. Full enough, with a tug of tannin keeping it straight, and the fruit retaining the upper hand on the finish. Nice wine. Rating: 90 L&S (Apr 2012)

Dark greyish crimson. Ripe dark fruit – cassis and raspberry and cherry – and just a touch cedary. A light smoky/Lapsang note. Rich, dense fruit that is just ripe – fresh and intense. Firm, chewy tannins. Big structure. Full bodied and still fragrant on the long finish. 2017-2026 Rating: 16.5 Julia Harding MW, (Apr 2012)

Nicely concentrated cassis with a lifted leafiness, good grippy concentration on the palate but it needs time to lose the greenness. Drink 2016-2024. Rating: 16 (Apr 2012)

This has good depth and polish, with pure, ripe blackberry and black currant fruit laced with roasted tobacco leaf, bay and iron notes. Shows solid grip through the finish. Rating: 90-93 James Molesworth, The Wine Spectator (Apr 2012)
