Much richer and broader, yet still a bright wine. This should be lovely. Depth as well as salty, glassy transparent minerality. Citrus, even oranges, underneath. L&S (Dec 2012)

The 2011 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles bursts from the glass with tons of tension and pure unadulterated energy. This is pure class from start to finish. A sweet floral note adds lift on the close, but the Pucelles is about structure and minerality above all else. Rating: 95 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Nov 2013)

Higher-pitched on the nose than the Clos de la Mouchere, offering scents of white peach, caramel and stony minerality. Fat, tactile and saline, but with powerful, well-integrated, ripe acidity giving shape and lift to the flavors of lemon, spices, medicinal herbs and wet stone. Wonderfully dense yet juicy wine with no rough edges and outstanding palate-coating persistence. This wine is carrying 5.1 grams per liter of acidity, the highest of the cellar in 2011, says Boillot, who picked these vines first. Rating: 94 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Sept 2013)

Chalky and chewy and introvert but with lots of impact. Well done. 2017-2025 Rating: 16.5 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2013)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
