2012 Domaine Anne Gros
|Sub-district||Côte de Nuits|
From vines on the Côte, much more solidly constructed than the Hautes Côtes, vinous, quite structured, firm, even juty despite delicacy. Very good. L&S (May 2017)
*Case Price: Mix any 12 bottles of wine or buy 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits or Fortified (as a full pack) to get the 'case price' for each bottle.
The 2012 Bourgogne Rouge has plenty of raspberry preserve and redcurrant on the well-defined nose. The palate is medium-bodied, quite tense and citric on the entry with plenty of tart red cherry fruit on the minerally finish. Not bad at all. Rating: 87-89 Neal Martin, www.robertparker.com
Still on lees. Between Nuits and Flagey in four little parcels totalling less than one hectare. Dark crimson. Juicy and quite light – lighter and fresher than the Hautes Côtes Rouge. A bit chewy on the end for the moment. Crunchy tannins but sweet at the start. 2016-2020 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com
(30% new oak). This is also ripe with slightly more deeply pitched aromas of dark currant and plenty of earth character. There is a bit more volume to the textured, delicious and solidly concentrated medium weight flavors that possess a hint of rusticity on the persistent and appealing complex finish. 2016+ Rating: 86-88 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com
Rating: 88 Tim Atkin MW, www.timatkin.com
Domaine Anne Gros
Anne Gros is quietly meticulous and almost obsessive about cleanliness in her cellar, which perhaps is reflected in the delicacy and restrained tension in her wines, which have aromatic clarity, limpid precision, sheer joie de vivre, lively balance and persistence.
