Very mild reduction is still enough to push the underlying fruit to the background. There is excellent tension and plenty of minerality to the textured and intense medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a clean and notably dry but not particularly austere finish. While this should certainly reward 5 to 7 years of cellaring it is sufficiently open on the mid-palate to be enjoyed young if desired. Good stuff. 2018+ Rating: 90 Allen Meadows, (Jun 2014)

Rating: 91 Tim Atkin MW, (Jan 2014)

Bright, dry, light chalky texture. Fine acidic line – really perky. Refreshing and enjoyable, if not massively aromatic. 2014-2018 Rating: 16.5 Richard Hemming - (Jan 2014)

Delicate aroma of white blossom with a more serious stony edge behind that. Saline freshness and tension. Seems softer than the Princée. 2014-2017 Rating: 16.5 Julia Harding MW, (Jan 2014)

The 2012 St. Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes comes from Olivier’s 2.36-hectare plot of vines planted as far back as 1935. It has a much more lifted, animated bouquet compared to the En Remilly at this stage, with perfumed lime leaf and citrus scents that bode well post-bottling. The palate is very well-balanced with a fine line of acidity. Bestowed with admirable weight and harmony plus a fine linear finish, this would be just one of my picks from Monsieur Lamy this year. Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, (Jan 2014)

When Oliver took his samples of this vineyard he discovered that it was not Marl Blanche as he had expected, but small pebbly rocks. Quite floral on the nose. Just balanced acidity. A rounder palate: not full, but smooth at the edges. It has aromatic floral quality on the palate and particularly on the finish. Very good+. Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Dec 2013)

Domaine Hubert Lamy

Olivier Lamy, has built on the solid foundations his father Hubert prepared with twenty years and more of work in the vineyards. Today the Domaine has 18.5 hectares of vines - 80% are Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. The vines are in several appellations - Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay. The reputation of the domaine is now made, but the Saint Aubins, both red and white remain some of the bargains of Côte d'Or, and challenge the supposed superiority of the grander villages on a regular basis, both in terms of young and mature wines.
