Ripe. Sweetly round again. Plump, circular and gourmand. Yet still fine, pure, long. Sensational richness of flavour as well as tautness on the finish. L&S (Dec 2013)

Here too there is strong reduction and again I would definitely advise decanting this in advance. There is excellent concentration and an abundance of dry extract present on the citrus-tinged medium-bodied flavors where the extract imparts a wonderfully seductive character to the delicious and suave finish that somewhat curiously displays moderate austerity. Even so I would not expect it to persist for more than a year or so as the ripeness level is sufficiently high for it to dissipate quickly. Note that this also delivers fine quality and is definitely worth considering. 2018+ Rating: 91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jun 2014)

Tight and minerally on the nose, inviting in restraint. Subtle and coiled on the palate too. Impressive for its balance and freshness rather than for its intensity. 2014-2016 Rating: 16 Julia Harding MW, www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2014)

The 2012 St. Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly comes from Olivier’s 2.02-hectare parcel planted in 1989 and it often has a starring role within his portfolio. True to form it has a divine bouquet, beautifully defined as usual with delicate lime, red apple, lemon peel and floral scents. The palate is supremely well-balanced with fine tannins and beautifully judged acidity. It already displays wonderful tension on the electric finish. Gorgeous! Rating: 92-94 Neal Martin, www.robertparker.com (Jan 2014)

This has a mix of clay, rock and limestone all mixed up and looser – it does not have that clay layer like the Dent de Chien so in a warm vintage it can suffer and get too ripe without water it stresses. But therefore it really shows well in a lesser vintage. Also depends – part of the vineyard get the wind and is always fresher. Wind does play a part here. This is pure and high toned and bright. Very taut. Straight, neatly edged; fine and tense palate. good nervousity and shivering minerality. Particularly good+. Rating: 17.65 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Dec 2013)

Domaine Hubert Lamy

Olivier Lamy, has built on the solid foundations his father Hubert prepared with twenty years and more of work in the vineyards. Today the Domaine has 18.5 hectares of vines - 80% are Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. The vines are in several appellations - Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay. The reputation of the domaine is now made, but the Saint Aubins, both red and white remain some of the bargains of Côte d'Or, and challenge the supposed superiority of the grander villages on a regular basis, both in terms of young and mature wines.
