A vaguely exotic character suffuses the fresh, ripe and airy aromas of sea breeze, white orchard fruit and soft petrol scents. There is a round, caressing and already relatively tender mouth feel to the light mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess reasonably good energy before terminating in a focused, lingering and moderately dry finale. Like the Bougros this could be enjoyed young if desired. 2018+ Rating: 90 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Oct 2015)

30% reduction in yield (due to coulure not to frost). 10% fermented in steel (for first time) to give freshness and tension. Whole cluster. 100% malo. 11 months in oak/tank. Classic dusty Chablis nose. Lemon and lime leaf. Powdered chalky texture. Paper fine, juicy and gently creamy. Not deep but long. Drinking range: 2016 - 2023 Rating: 17 Julia Harding MW, www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2015)

The 2013 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir was cropped on October 3 and spent 11 months in oak and tank. It is a little spicier on the nose compared to the Chablis les Clos '13: attractive chalky scents emerging with continued aeration. The palate is succinctly balanced with touches of citrus peel and a vibrant spicy finish, fanning out with careless abandon on the satisfying finish. This is a sublime Chablis Grand Cru. Drinking range: 2017 - 2032 Rating: 93 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Dec 2014)

Domaine Drouhin Vaudon

The Beaune-based merchant Joseph Drouhin has restyled its Chablis Domaine 'Domaine Drouhin-Vaudon' to emphasise its ties with and holdings in (38 hectares) the Chablis vineyard. The Moulin de Vaudon, an 18th Century watermill straddling the Serein River, close to the Grand Cru vineyards of Chablis, is the headquarters and the source of the name. It is the largest estate in Chablis entirely farmed biodynamically.
