2013 Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Grapes Pinot Noir
Colour Red
Origin France, Burgundy
District Côte d'Or
Sub-district Côte de Nuits
Village Gevrey Chambertin
ABV 13%

From the barrel this was showing a bit of wood on the nose, and a big round supple fruit too - juicy and satisfyingly fat. No massive complexity at this early stage, but a wine which is tonic and fresh and yest has great depth too. Drinking range: 2018 - L&S (Nov 2014)

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin is built on a core of silkiness, finesse and understatement. Crushed flowers, rose petals, mint and raspberries meld together in a wine of real nuance. Sweet floral notes add an aromatic flourish on the close. The 2013 is a blend of fruit from La Justice and Les Seuvrees. Drinking range: 2018 - 2033 Rating: 89-91 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Apr 2015)

Mid crimson. Quite smudgy and charming. Lots of fluidity and no excess of acidity. Lots of charming, rather opulent fruit. Drinking range: 2017 - 2024 Rating: 16.5/20 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2015)

A brooding and backward nose displays an array of more deeply pitched aromas that include plenty of earth and sauvage elements on the dark berry fruit scented nose. This too possesses fine volume and mid-palate concentration to the lightly mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that are supported by firm and mildly austere but not really rustic finish. A quality villages. Drink 2020+ Rating: 88-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2015)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
