Here the cherry-stone fruit is the most obvious, soft supple, round and attractively pure. There's a touch of leathery spice too. Drinking range: 2018 - L&S (Nov 2014)

*Case price discount: Mix any 12 bottles of wine (or 9 litre equivalent) or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits, Sweet Wine or Fortified (4.5 litres) to get the discounted 'case price' for each bottle.

(bottled in January of 2015): Moderately saturated medium red. Expressive, open-knit aromas of blueberry and spices; less chocolatey than usual for Santenots owing to the cooler vintage. Nicely sweet and supple in the mouth, with juicy acidity framing the red berry and spice flavors and giving this wine considerable charm. Finishes savory and persistent, with smooth tannins. Drinking range: 2016 - 2024 Rating: 90 Stephen Tanzer, www.vinousmedia.com (Mar 2016)

This is noticeably more complex with its layered array of plum, floral, earth, tea and in the same fashion as the Frémiets, sandalwood hints. There is a textured mouth feel to the sleekly muscular medium weight flavors that possess fine precision and a discreet minerality, all wrapped in a moderately austere, long and firm finale. This is one to check out. 2021+ Rating: 91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Apr 2015)

(a blend of 20- and 80+-year-old vines): Bright, deep, saturated red. Aromas black cherry and licorice show a medicinal aspect. Intense, dense and pure, with harmonious acidity giving shape to the flavors of wild strawberry and licorice. At once round and vivacious, with the depth and strength of fruit to support the substantial ripe tannins. Finishes with lingering dark berry and violet nuances. Guillaume Boillot noted that this parcel of Santenots is situated lower on the hillside than the Santenots-du-Milieu, which he says is a hotter location. Drinking range: 2020 - 2031 Rating: 91-93 Stephen Tanzer, www.vinousmedia.com (Jan 2015)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
