A small part is vinified in stainless steel - they are reining back the oak influence. Very intense pure green-tinged fruit, mineral, fat, tight - utterly brilliant - taut and long-term. Drinking range: 2020 - L&S (Nov 2015)

85% in older oak for 13 months. Creamy quince aroma with a hint of orange. Deep and firm and creamy on the palate but still vibrant and mineral. Tight, crisp and sustained, and deliciously mouth-watering. Streamlined rather than concentrated. Drinking range: 2017 - 2024 Rating: 17 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - (Jan 2016)

Deliberately made with no new oak, to avoid what Véronique Drouhin calls “the Beaune style”, this comes from two locations within the Grand Cru. It’s a very compact, backward wine with laser-like focus and notes of oyster shell and struck match. Very long and refined. Drinking range: 2017 - 2026 Rating: 95 Tim Atkin MW, (Jan 2016)

Pale straw-yellow. Ripe peach and honey on the nose. Round, rich and mouthfilling, conveying a seductively glyceral texture without excess weight. Very ripe for the year and sexy in the early going. But the chewy, long finish conveys a dusty impression of extract and good energy. Drinking range: 2017 - 2022 Rating: 90 Stephen Tanzer, (Aug 2015)

Domaine Drouhin Vaudon

Founded in Beaune in 1880, under the name Maison Joseph Drouhin, the domaine has been built up over the years with the addition of new parcels in the Burgundy region and now comprises 73 hectares of vineyards, more than 2/3 of which are classified as Premier and Grands Crus. It is one of the largest estates in the region, and is now also the largest estate in Chablis entirely given over to biodynamic cultivation. Since 2008, the name 'Vaudron' has been associated with all Joseph Drouhin wines from the Chablis region as a sign of the firm's "allegiance to the terroir" and homage to the Moulin de Vaudron, the home of Joseph Drouhin.
