Very big-boned, but not burly. Rich and dense and so silky, a calm presence on the palate that gradually reveals its energy as the black fruit fans out. Really exciting. Drinking range: 2025 - L&S (Nov 2015)

A stunning red, with fine harmony and grace creating a frame for the cherry, currant, floral, spice and mineral flavors. Intense, with a long, lingering aftertaste and a finish that goes into overdrive. Offers loads of fruit, spice and mineral details, delivering a racy feel. Best from 2023 through 2045. Drinking range: 2023 - 2045 Rating: 97 Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator (May 2017)

Bright, full red. Captivating perfumed scents of wild strawberry, raspberry, white flowers, spices and white pepper, with darker notes of cherry and menthol emerging with aeration. In a distinctly juicy, minerally, cool style compared to the broader 2015, but with terrific intensity to its youthfully imploded red fruit flavors. Powerful crushed rock and saline mineral flavors give this wine's finish outstanding energy and lift. Already compellingly floral and perfumed, this wine will nonetheless require patience owing to its substantial dusty tannins. Drinking range: 2023 - 2034 Rating: 93+ Stephen Tanzer, www.vinousmedia.com (Mar 2017)

The attractively layered and extremely fresh nose offers up ripe aromas of high-toned red cherry with background notes of violets, spice and warm earth. There is impressive volume to the full-bodied and opulently rich flavors that possess an abundance of mouth coating sap that imparts a velvety, even lush mouth feel to the beautifully well-balanced finale. This is a strikingly good combination of finesse and controlled power. Drinking range: 2026 - Rating: 92-95 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2016)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
