55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Tasted twice, this showed really well. Lovely bright red, curranty fruit on the nose - nicely perfumed, palate is slightly more full, more polished and weighty - but saved from being too much by a super hit of herbaceous leafiness, keeping it charming but not overly supple. Good. Rating: 90 L&S (Apr 2015)

Senejac is in the Haut-Médoc between Margaux and Bordeaux, and is one of the best-known châteaux for value at a lower price. This is very young so either put it away for 2023 or decant it. Victoria Moore, The Daily Telegraph (Nov 2017)
Savory herbs, tobacco, smoke, licorice and lavender are some of the notes that emerge from the 2014 Senejac. There is good energy in the glass, but the style is distinctly mid-weight and also a touch compact. Even so, this is a lovely wine for what is likely to be a very reasonable tariff. Rating: 87-90 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (May 2015)
The Château Sénéjac 2014 has a fresh, lively bouquet, those energetic blackberry and boysenberry fruit leaping from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied and tones it down a little. But there is commendable energy here, well-judged acidity and plenty of blackberry and raspberry fruit on the finish that linger long in the mouth. This comes recommended. Drinking range: 2018 - 2028 Rating: 89-91 Neal Martin, www.robertparker.com (May 2015)
Mid crimson. Quite rich and floral. Well put together though not exactly earthy – more like a composite confection. Tannins and fruit far from married and the strength of the perfume is a little disconcerting but it should give pleasure. Dry finish. Drinking range: 2018 - 2024 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Apr 2015)
The fruit on the nose is sweet the start of the palate bright with a mix of fresh black fruits. Quite supple in the middle but it feels firmer and fresher at the back the finish quite light. Drinking range: 2022 - 2030 Rating: 85-88 Derek Smedley MW, www.dereksmedleymw.co.uk (Apr 2015)
This is exceptionally well done with currant, dark berry and blueberry character. Full body, firm tannins and a bright finish. Rating: 91-92 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com (Mar 2015)
So far south in the Haut-Médoc that it exists in splendid isolation, without vineyard neighbours, in the tiny settlement of Le Pian Médoc, is Château Sénéjac. The usual Bordelais long complicated history is crowned by the purchase of Sénéjac in 1999 by Lorraine Cordier, owner of Château Talbot. Since Lorraine’s death, Sénéjac has been managed by her sister Nancy Bignon Cordier with operations overseen by Alfred Tesseron and his team from Château Pontet Canet. There are 39ha of vineyard, in a single block, planted with 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, with an average age of 35 years. The wines of Château Sénéjac offer splendid value and relatively early appeal.
