Vineyard Montagne

Deep nose with more black fruit in the depths. This vineyard faces due south, on limestone, so it has a good combination of a very sunny expostion and always ripens well. A sunny black fruit aspect as well as the lively texture of a wine from a mineral soil. Drinking range: 2017 - L&S (Nov 2015)

*Case price discount: Mix any 12 bottles (or 9l equivalent) of wine or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits, Sweet Wine or Fortified to get the 'case price' for each bottle.

Moderate reduction presently dominates what appear to be ripe and earth red berry fruit scents. There is good punch and detail to the lightly minerally middle weight flavors that possess a saline character as well a bit more mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a vibrant, delicious and mildly austere finale. Drinking range: - 2019 Rating: 86-89 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com(Jan 2016)

Domaine Huguenot

The Huguenots can trace their history in Marsannay and working in the vines back to 1789. Currently the domaine is run by Philippe. His father Jean-Louis expanded the domaine from five to twenty-two hectares (twelve in Marsannay, six in Fixin, and four in Gevrey) before handing over the reins. Philippe has taken the bold step of taking all twenty-two hectares into organic production (the conversion was completed in 2010).

BURGUNDY selection | Mixed Case

Just when you think Burgundy is getting a tad expensive, some other upward pressures are applied to prices - small yields and a weak Sterling are the current factors. Luckily for you, there are merchants out there (or here, to be precise) with the nouse to seek out good value even in a region where good value can feel hard to come by. Here's a fine selection of our Very Good Value red and whites - not necessarily cheap enough to tempt the less discerning away from the discount supermarket but it does mean that us ordinary mortals can still afford to drink Burgundy.
