2014 Agricola Punica
|Grapes||Cab Sauv, Carignano, Cab Franc, Merlot, Syrah|
Made from Carignan , Syrah and Cabernet Franc, it is deep ruby red in color with intense red fruit - red plums, red and black berries on the palate with flavours of prunes and a long licquorice finish. An elegant wine with a mouth filling texture with complexity and balancing acidity. Winemaker's notes (Apr 2017)

Agricola Punica is a joint venture, started in 2002, between Sebastiano Rosa, of the San Guido estate, and the Santadi winery. Oenologist Giacomo Tachis, Antonello Pilloni (president of Santadi) and the Marquis Nicolo Incisa della Rochetta (San Guido - Sassicaia) are also shareholders.
The vineyards are in the southwestern part of Sardinia, the region know as 'Isola dei Nuraghi', planted with Carignano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah, as well as some Sardinian varieties.
Aromas of blueberries, flowers and stones. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a flavorful and refined finish. Always outstanding. Rating: 91-91 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com (Nov 2016)
