After the generous velvety richness of the Gevrey, this shows a touch more structure and grip - but only a touch, it's still a Vosne-styled Nuits from north of the town - really its just a bit more lively and long. Drinking range: 2018 - L&S (Jan 2016)

(features the same mix of components as the 2015): Fresh medium red. Aromas of plum, redcurrant, red cherry and smoke. Sweeter and more pliant in the mouth than the Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes, with a sexy element of salty, smoky minerality. This plush, creamy wine shows an almost unctuous texture for the 2014 vintage but it also displays the sappy fruit of the year. Here the tannins are very well buffered by the wine's stuffing. Drinking range: 2018 - 2027 Rating: 91 Stephen Tanzer, www.vinousmedia.com (Mar 2017)

(a declassified blend of Les Murgers, La Richemone and Aux Cras). An exuberantly floral array of spicy essence of cherry aromas displays top notes of lavender, violet, rose petal and lilac. Once again the middle weight flavors possess a sleek mouth feel that is a bit more muscular and assertive than that of the La Riotte while culminating in a punchy, detailed and highly persistent finale. Drinking range: - 2022 Rating: 90-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2016)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
