Véronique remarked that she noted this wine 'tres fin, excellent!" when we tasted, and it is lovely - full yet dancingly light, sunny - seems composed of light and yellow fruit. Very long. Drinking range: 2018 - L&S (Nov 2015)

This is surprisingly open with spice, berry and chocolate aromas and flavors. Medium body. Almond, dark-fruit and Spanish-cedar character. Drink or hold. Drinking range: 2017 - Rating: 93-93 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com(Apr 2017)

14 months in oak. Wonderfully inviting lightly oaked aroma – creamy, oatmeal and spice but all very delicate, green fruits too. Deeper and longer than the Meursault, firmer but still scented. Still on the light side in terms of mid-palate concentration but longer than the Meursault Genevrières. Drinking range: 2017 - 2020 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com(Jan 2016)

Folatières’ position at the same level on the slope as Chevalier-Montrachet is a clue to the way it often tastes in the right hands. This comes from a parcel that the Drouhins have purchased for 40 years and it’s a stunning wine in 2014, showing pear and orange peel notes, a hint of hazelnut, stylish oak and a crunchy, minerally finish. Drinking range: 2017 - 2026 Rating: 96 Tim Atkin MW, www.timatkin.com(Jan 2016)

Pale yellow. Very ripe aromas of white peach, pineapple and white flowers. Sweet and lush, in a very ripe style, with the elevated alcohol clearly contributing to the wine's texture. Doesn't offer the precision of the Morgeot but this is satisfying and long. Rating: 90-92 Stephen Tanzer, www.vinousmedia.com(Sep 2015)

Joseph Drouhin

Despite the size of their vineyard holding, not all of Drouhin's wines come from their own domaine, but most of the other wines do come from long-term contracts, such as exists with the Marquis de Laguiche wines. In all but name these wines are 'Domaine' wines, and the vineyards are cared for and the wines vinified with exactly the same care.
