DUROU 'EXCEPTION' MALBEC
2015 Fabrice Durou
Grapes | Malbec |
Colour | Red |
Origin | France, Vin de France |
ABV | 13.0% |
As Victoria Moore wrote in the Daily Telegraph when describing an earlier vintage - this is a '...French malbec from the region around Cahors, not fat and punchy as you know it from Argentina, but restrained and slightly claretty in shape...' We could not agree more - it seems so sophisticated in contrast to its cousins from the southern hemisphere, firmer, tauter but with the unmistakable richness of fruit and gorgeously drinkable texture. A real bargain from this part of France. Drinking range: 2017 - 2019 Rating: 89 L&S (Feb 2017)

Malbec from the Cahors region, with a restrained structure that is closer to claret than the juicy malbec of Argentina. Savoury and gruffly elegant. Particularly excellent in this vintage.Victoria Moore, The Daily Telegraph (Feb 2017)
