There's no shortage of the assertive scents of grapefruit and passion fruit on this classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc whose tropical, passion fruit flavours deliver a richness of fruit texture that could be overwhelming but instead is nicely reined in on the finish by its refreshingly grapefruit zesty dryness. Rating: 89 (Jun 2017)

This is a stunning and exceptionally aromatic Sauvignon Blanc from the top flight Two Rivers Estate. It is made from no less than five different vineyards which layers the tropical and citrus notes in this superb wine. (Daily Mail) Matthew Jukes (May 2017)

A convergence of flavours from five separate vineyards located in the Awatere, Southern Valleys and Rapaura sub regions, this is classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc at its finest. Harvested at optimum ripeness, the grapes were gently pressed and fermented, at cool temperatures, in stainless steel to maximise fruit purity and character. The wine was then aged on fine lees for 3 months, adding texture, complexity and increased mouth-feel to the palate. An abundance of blackcurrant, white peach and chalky aromas lead to a palate which is dry and refreshing with great concentration, beautiful fruit purity and moutherwatering acidity. Drinking range: 2017 - 2020 Winemaker's notes (Mar 2017)

Two Rivers of Marlborough

David Clouston is originally from Marlborough, and after 22 vintages abroad from Oregon to Chile, Corsica to Alsace, he returned home and set about exploring the valleys and diverse terroirs of Marlborough. The main production is the Sauvignon made from fruit from both the Awatere and Wairau river valleys, whence the 'Two Rivers of Marlborough' name, but his hillside Pinot Noir is showing great potential.
