FLOR DE MARGOT

2016 Treixadura Adegas Valdavia

Grapes Treixadura
Colour White
Origin Spain, Ribeiro
ABV 12.5%

Named after 'Margot' the winemaker's grandmother (who's image is on the striking label) this gorgeously aromatic wine is made from the Galician variety Treixadura, which is most commonly blended with other varieties from the region, but when done well - can stand alone, as it does here to produce a beautifully crisp, light wine, characterised by citrus fruit intensity - a warm lemony juice, some pithy edge - and pretty white flowers. An interesting and worthy alternative to Albariño. L&S (Jun 2018)
