Good uplifted aromatics. Floral and pretty nose. Nice feel, good 'matiere', without over-ripeness the fruit is nicely measured. Great concentration. Not sweet, just crisp enough, just enough edge here, lovely sculpted red and blue fruit, plums and some more evolved purple/red berries. Good spice, good flow. Serious. L&S (Oct 2017)

Medium red. Lively scents of red raspberry and spices, plus an herbal nuance. Vivacious, linear village wine with modest complexity but good sappiness. Perhaps a touch green on the end but juicy and alive. Rating: 88-90 Stephen Tanzer, www.vinousmedia.com (Jan 2018)

A pure and moderately high-toned nose proposes notes of red cherry, spice and a range of floral elements. There is a really lovely sense of verve suffusing the fresh, pure and well-delineated middle weight flavors where an almost pungent minerality arises on the linear and persistent finish. Lovely stuff. Drinking range: 2022 - Rating: 89-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2018)

The 2016 Morey St Denis en la Rue de Vergy has ample red cherry, strawberry and bergamot scents on the nose, though here I would be seeking just a little more detail and clarity. The palate is smooth and quite fleshy on the entry, moderate acidity, the tannin a little obtrusive at the moment, although they should melt together with time. Not bad, but I want to see more energy and finesse by the time this is in bottle. Drinking range: 2019 - 2026 Rating: 85-87 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Dec 2017)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
