The vines here are on very stony soil says Christophe. Impressive aromatics, then good pure fruits, morello cherry and dark strawberries dominate the pretty. The feel is immediately of the earth, the limestone - there is super restraint to the fruit for now as the mineral feel coats it so well, real elegance and pure, finesse-filled drive. Impressive already, but this will round out before bottling says Christophe, which he intends to do in February probably. L&S (Oct 2017)

A mix of sweet, ripe cherry and raspberry fruit, aromatic spices and toasty oak mark this elegant and harmonious red. Intense, with vibrant acidity and refined tannins lining the long finish. Drinking range: 2021 - 2035 Rating: 93 Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator (Feb 2019)

A pretty, cool and airy nose is comprised by aromas of maraschino cherry laced with both earth and a plethora of floral elements. The sleek, intense and wonderfully mineral-driven middle weight flavors possess an almost pungent salinity on the bitter cherry-inflected finish that flashes superb length. Like the Gevrey villages, if this can develop more depth with time in bottle this could be a knock-out. Drinking range: 2028 - Rating: 91-94 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2018)

Bright, dark red; these wines display brilliant Pinot colors. Knockout carnal perfume combines cherry, iron, tobacco, menthol and licorice along with classic Morey-Saint-Denis brown spices. Juicy and intense but rather bound-up in the early going, with its dark cherry, licorice, mint and iron flavors conveying a slightly medicinal character; an element of dried herbs adds another dimension. Finishes with a serious but fine dusting of tannins and excellent length and lift. This will need time in bottle. Rating: 90-93 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Jan 2018)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
