Christophe tells us that 40% 1er Cru Combe D’Orveau is included this year and this does have an impressive presence and intensity. Delicate nose with just a shadow of a plummy bouquet. This is pure - on the palate your taken straight into the clean intense fruit. Blackberry and ripe raspberries meld together into a clean, polished core. With some tightness here. More to unfurl for sure. But this is pretty and has great push. the fruit is ripe and so nicely poised. Drinking range: 2021 - 2027 L&S (Nov 2018)

(from 90 to 100 year old vines in Les Bussières where ~40% of the blend is from four different 1ers, including La Combe d’Orveau). The restrained nose is comprised by essence of red cherry liqueur that is discreetly laced by notes of spice, violet and rose petal. There is a bit more volume if perhaps slightly less minerality on the highly energetic flavors where the lingering finish is also shaped by fine-grained tannins on the bitter cherry pit-inflected and tightly wound finish. This well-made effort will need at least a few years to unwind. Drinking range: 2024 - Rating: 89-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2019)

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes, which contains 40% Premier Cru from the climat of La Combe d’Orveau, has quite an intense wild strawberry and blood orange bouquet, nicely defined and opening with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, silky texture and more blood orange. There is pleasant grip and impressive purity on the finish. Enjoy this over the next decade or so. Drinking range: 2020 - 2030 Rating: 89-91 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2019)

Ripe red fruit aroma. It has a nice freshness. Succulent attack. Red and juicy with a good deal of depth to this village wine. It is both ripe and fresh. Good structure. Rounded mid palate and straight on the finish. This is comprised of 40% declassified 1er cru Combe d’Orveau and this gives the opulence. Rating: 16.65 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Dec 2018)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
