Splash out on what is undoubtedly New Zealand’s finest chardonnay. Coddington always has plenty of bite and the 2017 is elegant and ripe, with a nutty, generous finish while retaining its complexity.’ Will Lyons, The Sunday Times (Dec 2019)

Wow. As ever the Coddington stands out for being riper, richer and more showy than the other releases. And in 2017 it still has the trademark is a luscious peach note. But for now this is perhaps less exuberant than in recent years. Yes there is more weight and a richer feel - but plenty of bite too from a decent slug of acidity. adds a ginger and limey note charming, quite taught - but with great texture and commanding density. The Brajkovichs are now running the Coddington vineyard completely, but they do not own it sadly. They are leasing it on a year by year basis - but have full control - for now, long may this last.... L&S(Oct 2018)

Toasted hazelnuts give way to a vibrant zesty mouthfeel. Really young at the moment, the reductive nuttiness really adds an extra dimension to this wine (not something that I always find). It’s got ripe fruit without being sweet – lovely rich and golden toasty notes. Long and fine. Drinking range: 2019 - 2030 Rating: 17 Alistair Cooper MW - www.JancisRobinson.com(Dec 2019)

The 2017 Coddington Chardonnay has a fresh, well-defined bouquet with fine mineralité and hints of white flowers. This is backward and clearly needs more time. The palate is taut and fresh with a killer line of acidity, plenty of citrus fruit and orange zest and flint-like notes toward the persistent, razor-sharp finish. This is a top-notch Coddington, but be patient. Drinking range: 2022 - 2040 Rating: 92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com(Feb 2019)
