PINOT NOIR

2017 Tributary Two Rivers of Marlborough

Grapes Pinot Noir
Colour Red
Origin New Zealand, South Island
ABV 13%

Dave Clouston's Pinots are always a delight to drink and this fragrant beauty is no different. Opening up with a lovely intensity of rhubarb, cherry and raspberry fruits, there are notes of spice and just a hint of something floral. Mouthfilling and yet surprisingly refreshing in equal parts, that red fruit core is there again, with a note of mocha, spice and undergrowth. This would drink so well with either partridge or pheasant. Drinking range: 2019 - 2025 L&S (Nov 2020)

Two Rivers of Marlborough

David Clouston is originally from Marlborough, and after 22 vintages abroad from Oregon to Chile, Corsica to Alsace, he returned home and set about exploring the valleys and diverse terroirs of Marlborough. The main production is the Sauvignon made from fruit from both the Awatere and Wairau river valleys, whence the 'Two Rivers of Marlborough' name, but his hillside Pinot Noir is showing great potential.
