2017 Domaine Henri Boillot
|Sub-district||Côte de Beaune|
(Tasted from tank - just about to be bottled and being fined at moment) This is very fine, with a lovely purity and pithy, dusty drive. Then a core builds of riper yellow fruits. Nicely precise and pure but with a glimpse of richness. Smart. L&S (Oct 2018)

(from 1 ha of evenly mixed vines in Houlières, Charmes, La Rue aux Vaches, Rue Rousseau and Enseignères). An exceptionally floral-suffused nose consists of ripe and equally exotic aromas of white peach, acacia and lychee nut. There is excellent density to the punchy medium-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract that imparts a sappy texture to the saline and lightly stony finish that offers much better depth and length than one typically finds in villages level Puligny. In sum, one to strongly consider. Drinking range: 2023 - Rating: 90 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com(Jun 2019)
Derived from the superior lieux-dits of Les Houlières, La Rousselle, Les Charmes and Les Enseignères, Boillot's 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Village exhibits pretty aromas of lemons, white peach, fresh pastry, blanched almonds and honeycomb. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegant, with succulent acids and a saline finish. Rating: 90-92 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate(Jan 2019)
Domaine Henri Boillot
A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.
The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
