Interestingly restrained on the nose, not giving a lot away at this stage. On the palate it's a different story. Fruit has drive but the feel is all elegance and pretty lift. Nicely defined, but bright red berries and sweet strawberry mulch - that acidity though, such a fine thread keeps it all so fine so pert. This is great. Precise and bright with hidden depths of concentration. Long and voluptuous and shapely as heck. L&S (Nov 2019)

Perfumed, this red reveals sandalwood, green olive and baking spice aromas complementing its black currant and violet flavors. Elegant and seamless, it ends with a cascade of fruit and spice. Best from 2023 through 2038 Drinking range: 2023 - 2038 Rating: 93 Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator (Mar 2021)

(this limited two barrel cuvée is crafted from 70+ year old vines that abut the Musigny climat which is also called La Combe d'Orveau and is a monopole of Domaine Jacques Prieur). There is a top note of menthol on the airy and cool aromas red and dark cherry, raspberry, spice and lovely floral nuances. The succulent and admirably concentrated medium weight flavors exude a bracing salinity on the impressively long finish. Like several wines in the range, this needs to develop more complexity but there is so much dry extract that it will almost certainly do so. Drinking range: 2031 - Rating: 91-94 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2020)

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau "Cuvée Ultra" has a more expressive and extroverted bouquet compared to its counterpart in Nuits Saint-Georges, featuring kirsch, orange peel and hints of brown spice. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a caressing texture and a touch of spice and white pepper toward the persistent finish. A lovely wine, although the Nuit Saint-Georges Cuvée Ultra has more derring-do. Drinking range: 2022 - 2045 Rating: 92-94 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2020)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
