Vineyard Les Belles Croix

The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Belle Croix is the first vintage from 0.70 hectares of vines planted in 1954, matured in 50% whole cluster. It has a concentrated and opulent bouquet, perhaps not displaying the same delineation as some of its rivals. The palate is packed with sucrosity, quite lavish and sumptuous, although this moves it away from Burgundy in terms of style and precision. It will make enjoyable drinking over the next decade, but I am less convinced by its long-term prospects. Drinking range: 2021 - 2028 Rating: 86-88 Neal Martin, (Jan 2020)

*Case price discount: Mix any 12 bottles of wine (or 9 litre equivalent) or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits, Sweet Wine or Fortified (4.5 litres) to get the discounted 'case price' for each bottle.

Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs

The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
