Old vines here are at least 65 years old. This has the most sumptuous nose which follows perfectly on to the palate. A rush of gently macerated red berries. Some red currents and a citrus edge - a crisp almost shrill bite which is gorgeous. Very digeste. An arrow of acidity pinning it all together and darting on and on. The fruit is firm though and more blue and dense than it first appears. Almost imaginary tannins just hold shape at the finish. Very smart indeed. L&S (Nov 2019)

Plenty of spicy, toasty oak, sandalwood and a hint of dark chocolate swirl around the core of black cherry and black currant in this sleek, silky red. Fine harmony, finesse and a lingering, resonant aftertaste are its hallmarks. Best from 2023 through 2038 Drinking range: 2023 - 2038 Rating: 94 Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator (Mar 2021)

(from a .49 ha parcel). A vivaciously floral-suffused nose, and in particular violet and lavender, enjoys additional breadth in the form of anise, exotic tea, hoisin and black pinot fruit. The palate impression of the tension and mineral-inflected middle weight flavors is every bit as refined as that of the Fuées while the chiseled, linear and pure finish delivers very fine length and depth. This is excellent and is a VRBM of finesse. Drinking range: 2030 - Rating: 91-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2020)

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru offers black fruit, black truffle and undergrowth aromas on the nose. There is a slight touch of dried apricot in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins matched by fine acidity. Harmonious, but it feels just a little short toward the finish at the moment. Fine. Drinking range: 2022 - 2040 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2020)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
